On spherically symmetric Finsler metrics with isotropic Berwald curvature (English)

A Finsler metric defined on the open ball \(B^n(v)=\{v\in \mathbb{R}^n\,|\, |v|<1\}\) is called spherically symmetric if the orthogonal group \(\mathrm{O}(n)\) acts by isometries. Recently, the study of such metrics has attracted much attention of Finslerian geometers. In the present paper, the authors study some geometric properties of such metrics. They show that, if a spherically symmetric Finsler metric is of isotropic Berwald curvature, then it must be a Randers metric of a certain special form. Moreover, they present explicitly new Randers metrics of isotropic Berwald curvature and give the formula of the S-curvature for these new types of examples.
