In several problems, e.g, charge transport in heterogeneous semiconductors, problems arise with particles having a position-dependent mass. In previous works a Hamiltonian depending on some parameters has been proposed and investigated. In the paper under consideration a new Hamiltonian is suggested which is based on a permutation of a special case of the previous one.NEWLINENEWLINEThe calculation of the band structure of a particle with periodically varying mass, solved with both the approaches, show that, although a qualitative agreement, the results differ quantitatively.
