Existence and uniqueness of strong solutions for a free boundary system involving the motion of an elastic body immersed in an incompressible fluid are established. The fluid is modeled by Navier-Stokes equations. The wave equation \(w_{tt}-\Delta w=0\) is used to model the motion of the elastic body. A domain with nonflat boundary is considered that requires a change for the space of initial data and the space for solutions to the hyperbolic wave equation capturing elastic body motion. Moreover, the spaces needed for existence and uniqueness enlarge the previously known spaces of initial data.
