Plastic exfoliation of rigid rectangular inclusion under concentrated force action (English)
0 references
The authors consider an antiplane problem of plastic exfoliation of a rigid rectangular inclusion in an ideal elasto-plastic medium under force action along the inclusion axis. Plastic deformations are assumed to be concentrated on the inclusion boundary in zero thickness layers developing from the vortexes of the inclusion. Dependences of plastic band lengths on loading are determined. Conditions of junction of plastic layers developing along smaller faces of the inclusion and complete exfoliation of the inclusion are established. An applicability criterion is proposed for the theory of thin inclusions and a linear model of plastic zone. For the inclusions whose width does not exceed 5\% of their length it is shown that the error of the theory of thin inclusions is not larger than 5\%.
