In effect algebras, the central elements correspond to decompositions to products. This has been extended to generalized effect algebras (which do not have a maximal element) in [the first and second author, Rep. Math. Phys. 68, No. 3, 347--371 (2011; Zbl 1257.81003)]. The corresponding notion is called the \textit{exocenter}. In this paper, further generalization is made for \textit{pseudoeffect algebras} which are not commutative. In this context, further work is generalized, in particular, central orthocompleteness and a type-decomposition theorem, analogous to the type decomposition of von Neumann algebras.
