The book is the third edition of a well-known monography. It incorporates substantial changes, certain parts are rewritten, and new sections are added. The Chapters 2 and 3, concerning the box-counting dimensions and the Hausdorff dimension, are reorganized. The chapter on Brownian motion is largely rewritten. New sections concern porosity and other contemporary concepts. The book is useful for undergraduate and postgraduate courses on fractal geometry.
