Furi-Pera fixed point theorems for nonexpansive maps in Banach spaces (English)
0 references
The authors prove some fixed point theorems for nonexpansive maps, 1-set-contractions and demi-closed nonexpansive perturbations of nonexpansive maps defined on closed convex subsets of Banach spaces. A significant contribution is that the subsets are not necessarily bounded. The proofs are based on the Kuratowski measure of noncompactness and a compactness result for the approximate fixed point set. Applications to Banach algebras and to integral equations are given.
