Following the notion of generalized topological space attributed to \textit{Á. Császár} [Acta Math. Hung. 96, No. 4, 351--357 (2002; Zbl 1006.54003)] the authors introduce a notion of generalized topological group and provide various basic facts, thereby generalizing some basic concepts and fundamental results of topological groups [\textit{M. Tkačenko}, Topology Appl. 86, No. 3, 179--231 (1998; Zbl 0955.54013)]. This includes product, subspaces and quotient structures.
