The author analyses the structure of black holes, both in the usual 4-dimensional space-time, as well as in higher dimensions. He concentrates on the topology of the horizons, under which circumstances they have to be spherically symmetric. To this end he applies the homotopy-properties of the related space-times which are defined by closed curves and proves a theorem which shows the impossibility of a certain topology for the horizon.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 1287.00022].
