Starting with the work of \textit{E. S. Devinatz} et al. [Ann. Math. (2) 128, No. 2, 207--241 (1988; Zbl 0673.55008)] and \textit{A. Neeman} [Topology 31, No. 3, 519--532 (1992; Zbl 0793.18008)] there has been a lot of interest in classifying thick or localising subcategories of triangulated categories. The article under discussion applies the machinery of relative tensor triangulated geometry [\textit{G. Stevenson}, J. Reine Angew. Math. 681, 219--254 (2013; Zbl 1280.18010)] to classify the localising subcategories of the stable derived category of noetherian rings and noetherian separated schemes which only admit hypersurface singularities. The results are then applied to prove the relative telescope conjecture (see again [Zbl 1280.18010]) for these categories.
