Shafer proved the following inequality involving the arctangent function for \(x>0\): NEWLINE\[NEWLINE\arctan(x)>\frac{3x}{1+2\sqrt{1+x^2}}.NEWLINE\]NEWLINE In the paper under review, the authors give new versions of this inequality obtained by means of a change of variables.
