The book under review is a thorough course in model theory. It starts with the basic notions, such as languages, structures and models. It proves the most important standard results, like the compactness theorem, the Löwenheim-Skolem theorem and quantifier elimination theorems. It then continues with more elaborate topics, such as types, Morley's theorem, simple theories, stability theory and Hrushovski constructions.NEWLINENEWLINEThe first part (up to Chapter 3 or 4) can serve as lecture notes for a beginners course in model theory. The second part contains results that are also interesting for people with more background in model theory.NEWLINENEWLINEAll sections contain exercises, with hints to their solutions at the end of the book. The book also contains three appendices, providing material on set theory, fields and combinatorics.NEWLINENEWLINEThe book is very well written and a pleasure to read.
