A convex quadrilateral is called extangential if it possesses an excircle. This is a circle which is tangent at the outside of the quadrilateral to the extensions of its four sides. In the paper under review five necessary and sufficient conditions for a convex quadrilateral to be extangential are proved. Some historical remarks about such a kind of quadrilaterals are also given.
