The authors introduce a topological degree theory of Berkovits type for a class of demicontinuous operators satisfying a version of the \((S_+)\) property. This theory is applied to obtain an extension of the Borsuk theorem and an existence result for a Dirichlet boundary value problem with \(p\)-Laplacian.
