Factorization numbers of some finite groups. (Q2882498)

Let \(G\) be a finite group. The present paper deals with the factorization number \(F_2(G)\) of \(G\), i.e., the number of all factorizations \(G=AB\), where \(A\) and \(B\) are subgroups of \(G\). This is closely connected with the subgroup commutativity degree \(\text{sd}(G)\) of \(G\). Explicit formulas for \(F_2(G)\) are obtained for certain classes of finite groups, as cyclic groups, elementary Abelian \(p\)-groups, dihedral groups, generalised quaternion groups, quasi-dihedral 2-groups, modular \(p\)-groups, projective general linear groups and projective special linear groups.
