In this paper, a delay gene regulatory network model with positive and negative feedbacks is studied. The authors investigate the stability of the positive equilibrium. By analyzing the characteristic transcendental equation, the existence of a Hopf bifurcation for the model is obtained. As the delay varies, the bifurcation direction and the stability of the bifurcation periodic solutions are discussed by considering normal forms and center manifolds. Finally, an example is given and numerical simulations are performed to illustrate the obtained results.
