    A. Rotkiewicz asked whether there are infinitely many positive integers \(n\) such that \(n|(a^{\sigma(n)}- b^{\sigma(n)})\) for all integers \(a\), \(b\) with \((ab,n)= 1\), where \(\sigma(n)= \sum_{d|n} d\). The authors call these numbers Rotkiewicz numbers, and in this paper they show that certain families of integers \(n\) defined in terms of Mersenne and Fermat primes are Rotkiewicz numbers.
