Dealing with the concept of a porous set on a metric space, the author generalizes a result proved by \textit{F. S. De Biasi} and \textit{J. Myjak} [C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris, Sér. I 308, No. 2, 51--54 (1989; Zbl 0657.47053)] who showed that in a Hilbert space the set of all Banach contractions is \(\sigma\)-lower porous in the space of nonexpansive mappings. This fact is improved by the author by extending it to a wider family of spaces.
