An exact supersymmetric solution of type-IIB supergravity comprising all the fields that are sourced by the class of D1, D5 and P bound states is found. The ansatz is more general than the one that found previously used to describe three-charge bound-state geometries and that, when reduced to 5D, is equivalent to the STU model. It is shown that a suitable chain of dualities relates the ansatz to the M-theory lift of \(N=2\, \, 5D\) supergravity with three vector multiplets. The authors relate this M-theory solution to a duality-equivalent type-IIB solution.
