The author investigates various generalized continuum cardinals on Boolean algebras. The results were obtained during the preparation of a new edition of his book [\textit{J. D. Monk}, Cardinal invariants on Boolean algebras. Progress in Mathematics (Boston, Mass.). 142. Basel: Birkhäuser Verlag (1996; Zbl 0849.03038)]. Some of these functions assigned to Boolean algebras are the disjointness number \(c(A)\), the tower number \({\mathfrak{t}}(A)\), the independence number \({\mathfrak{i}}(A)\), the ideal independence \(s_{mm}(A)\), the chain number \({\mathfrak{l}}(A)\) and the splitting number \({\mathfrak{s}}(A)\). He investigates these functions for the following classes of Boolean algebras: atomless Boolean algebras, complete Boolean algebras, atomless interval algebras and superatomic Boolean algebras.NEWLINENEWLINE The paper contains a lot of open problems.
