The paper under review gives a dynamical approach to the algebraic problem of the decomposition of rational maps by describing the set of decompositions of a rational map, along with the decompositions of all its iterates. The authors give a uniformization for the space of decompositions of the iterates of a rational map and show that J-stablity implies hyperbolicity for decomposable rational maps.
