Numerical holography. Principle, algorithms and applications. (English)

The book (written in French) presents some principles, algorithms and applications of numerical holography. It begins with an introduction about holography where certain historical remarks can be found aswell. The first chapter recalls some necessary initial mathematical concepts; namely, some basic functions are defined. The Fourier transformation and some of its properties are included, and the linear filtering theory is considered. The second chapter deals with basic scalar wave diffraction theory. In particular, the wave equation is analyzed, the Kirchhoff, Rayleigh-Sommerfeld and Collins formulas are described, and Fresnel and Fraunhofer approximations are included. This is used in the next chapters. Chapter 3 is devoted to numerical computation of diffracted fields by using fast Fourier transform algorithms. In Chapter 4, the principles of optical holography are considered, and in Chapter 5 the numerical holography of Fresnel (and numerical color holography methods) are studied. Chapter 6 deals with wavefront reconstruction. A last chapter is devoted to holographic interferometry methods. The book also contains an appendix with examples of software for numerical hologram reconstruction.
