Chi-squared goodness of fit tests with applications (English)

This book contains details of chi-squared tests in case of additional information about the nature of departure from the hypothesized distribution. In this series of tests, the work of hundreds of statisticians and researchers has been referred. Among these the prominent ones are Pearson-Fisher, Voinov, Dzhaparidze-Nikulin, Hsuan-Robson-Mirvaliev, Nikolin-Rao-Robson and many others. Vector valued tests have been discovered which involve vector statistics. The power of the tests has also been worked out. Modified chi-square test statistics have been developed by various workers under different situations and for a large number of distributions. It includes tests for exponential, Weibull, Birnbaum-Saunders, Pearson, Poisson, binomial, logistic distributions, etc. The tests are also given for some classical measurements such as Cavendish, Millikan, Newcomb measurements. The book covers modifications and advances of chi-squared test in cases of various situations. On the whole, the book has a highly mathematical treatment and will be very useful to the researchers working on problems related to chi-squared tests of statistical hypothesis testing.
