Quadratic convergence of the shooting method using implicit integration formulas and Newton's method (English)
0 references
The author studies the shooting method for two-point boundary value problems of ordinary differential equations (ODEs). By the shooting method, the author connects the ODEs with boundary values to ODEs with constrained initial values. The implicit multistep method with variable step and Newton iteration are used to solve the constrained initial values ODEs. The quadratic convergence of the shooting method is proved and a numerical example is shown.
