In this work improved estimates on the coefficients for the motion of a rod over a flat plane with friction. It is concluded that the Painlevé paradox typically occurs when the dry friction coefficient is large enough and radius of inertia of a body sufficiently small.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 1236.70003].
