Duality of solutions of tether equilibrium problem in attracting and repelling fields of parallel forces (Q2895493)

In the paper, the solutions of the problem of equilibrium forms of an inextensible homogeneous thread of finite length with fixed ends in the field of parallel potential forces are examined. A qualitative analysis is carried out for the duality of thread equilibrium in attracting and repulsing fields of forces. Their behavior is depicted in two figures: figure 1 shows dual to each other forms of equilibrium; figure 2 presents the solutions when passing from one to other, but not dual to each other.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 1236.70002].
