A novel approach to the discovery of binary BBP-type formulas for polylogarithm constants (English)
0 references
BBP-type formulas are usually discovered experimentally through computer searches. Formal proofs are often developed after the formulas have been discovered and often involve the evaluation of complicated integrals. In this paper the author introduces a systematic symbolic method to discover BBP-type formulas without the usual computer-based searches. It leads to a wide range of interesting BBP-type formulas together with their proofs. They are obtained as natural consequences of polylogarithm identities, without the need of evaluating complicated integrals.
