A symmetric finite volume element scheme on tetrahedron grids (English)
0 references
The authors introduce and analyze a finite volume scheme in order to solve self-adjoint gradient type elliptic boundary value problems on tetrahedral grids. The scheme preserves the symmetry of the problem. Consequently the authors take advantage of this property in solving the discrete systems generated by the scheme. Some optimal and superconvergence results for the solution and, respectively, its flux are proved and some numerical examples are carried out.
