A first main result obtained by the authors characterizes a basis of the so called Park-Sheen nonconforming finite element space with some global edge-connected exceptional basis functions. The second main result is an explicit a priori error analysis for the combination of the Park-Sheen and the Crouzeix-Raviart nonconforming finite element methods for second-order elliptic partial differential equations with inhomogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions.
