J. Madarász proved that epimorphisms are not surjective in the class of semisimple cylindric algebras. The present author strenghtens this result: epimorphisms are not surjective in the class of infinite-dimensional simple cylindric algebras. This result implies that the Beth definability property fails for certain infinite logics.
