Worked examples in nonlinear continuum mechanics for finite element analysis. (English)
0 references
The book consists of nine chapters of worked examples on nonlinear continuum mechanics, aimed at finite element applications, including mainly stress analysis, hyperelasticity and large elasto-plastic deformations. The volume has been devised as a companion to the textbook [``Nonlinear continuum mechanics for finite elements''. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press (2008)] by the first and third authors. In order to keep the text self-contained, a summary of the equations needed is included at the beginning of each chapter. In addition, the notation is kept as general as possible including tensor, matrix, or indicial representations, and a website is made available by the authors for corrections, software, and sample input data.
