This book aims to give an overview on current research on spatial development in the early childhood classroom. Therefore, the author chooses a rather wide perspective, focusing on research in mathematics, art and literature, social studies as well as science. This innovative ensemble in the light of spatial development is especially useful to provide interesting perspectives on how to approach spatial literacy in early childhood education. In this context, one of the author's most influential scientific resources is the work of the mathematician Friedrich Froebel.NEWLINENEWLINEFor a first and general overview on spatial research development, this book is especially recommendable for early childhood educators and it offers some useful references to continue studying the interesting domain on spatial literacy -- not only in the school curriculum.
