Black holes and branes in supergravity (English)
0 references
This is a brief introductory review to black holes and branes in supergravity in higher dimensions. It starts discussiong \(n\)-form gauge fields, relevant to supergravity in 11 dimensions. It then introduces the BPS states in supersymmetry and in M-branes. It describes Kaluza-Klein reduction and the \(9+1\) dynamics that introduces the dilaton. Type II supergravity and IIA branes are discussed and also Type IIB string theory with the S and T dualities. It closes with a discussion of string perturbation theory and black hole entropy.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 1241.83007].
