Span of vector bundles \(\xi\) over \({RP}^n\) and stable extendibility (English)

The authors study the span of vector bundles over the real projective spaces. First they consider \(m\xi_n\), where \(\xi_n\) is the canonical line bundle over \(\mathbb RP^n\), and extend the result given in [\textit{T. Kobayashi} and \textit{T. Yoshida}, Mem. Fac. Sci., Kochi Univ., Ser. A 18, 43--48 (1997; Zbl 0879.57020)]. Then, they consider a vector bundle which is stably equivalent to \(m\xi_n\), and extend the result of [\textit{T. Kobayashi}, \textit{K. Yamamoto} and \textit{T. Yoshida}, Adv. Stud. Contemp. Math., Kyungshang 8, No. 2, 165--176 (2004; Zbl 1079.55017)].
