The authors are concerned with the quasilinear parabolic equation \(u_t-\Delta u=u^{-\delta}+f(x,t)\) in \(\Omega\times (0,T)\) subject to homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions and initial data \(u(x,0)=u_0(x)\) in \(\Omega\). Using a semidiscretization in the time variable, various existence and nonexistence results are obtained for weak solutions.
