Mechanism generating spatial patterns in reaction-diffusion systems (English)
0 references
This paper is devoted to the explanation of dynamic properties of reaction-diffusion systems modeling pattern formation, in particular Turing patterns. Ideas conecting differential equations with cellular automata are described. Cellular automata are theoretical models which consist of a regular grid of cells, and they exhibit the complex behavior from quite simple rules. They allow to understand the mechanism among a large class of phenomena.
