The author describes how networks approximations enables to derive solutions of continuum boundary-value problem via a discrete description based on structural approximation. In the first two chapters, they review ``mathematical notions used in the analysis of transport problems in composite materials'' and the ``background and motivation for the introduction of networks models''. They complete the analysis by five extra chapters called ``networks approximation for boundary value problems with discontinuous coefficients...'', ``Numerics for percolation and polydispersity via networks models'', ``The network approximation for an infinite number of bodies'', ``Network methods for non-linear composites'', ``Networks approximation for potential of bodies'' and ``Application of the method of complex variables''.
