The current work continues work by the author and others, including [\textit{H. Zhao} et al., J. Comb. Des. 18, No. 4, 274--291 (2010; Zbl 1201.94133)], on constructing optical orthogonal codes (OOCs) with codewords of different weights. The author considers OOCs with weight set \(\{3,4\}\) that are balanced (have equally many words of weights 3 and 4), and constructs optimal such codes of length \(18u\) for every \(u > 1\).
