Stability analysis of an HIV/AIDS epidemic model with screening (English)
0 references
The authors study a mathematical model that describes HIV/AIDS dynamics. Both a local and global stability analysis is carried out. The local stability of the endemic equilibrium is proved by using a new criterion that utilizes the second additive compound matrices, and the global stability of it is shown by excluding the existence of periodic solutions, homoclinic loops, and oriented phase polygons inside the invariant region. By dividing the infected into unaware and aware ones, the model analysis also indicates how the screening of the unaware infected can prevent the disease from spreading.
