This paper is concerned with the back and forth nudging algorithm for data assimilationn, a set of techniques that combine the mathematical information provided by the model with the physical information given by observations, in order to retrieve the state of the system. The study is carried over on various type of equations such as viscous transport equation, Burgers' equation etc. The main results of the paper establish the convergence of the algorithm which is all cases of differential equations considered is exponential in time.
