A new Lie-systems approach to second-order Riccati equations (English)

This article attempts to provide a Lie systems approach to second-order Riccati equations which occur in several applications. They introduce a geometric based method and determine a new superposition rule for the analysis of second-order Riccati equations, and it is shown that the explicit integration of such equations reduces to those of solving first-order Riccati equations. This has definite interest especially to those who study or apply Lie and Riccati systems.
