The main result of the paper under review establishes a strong convergence theorem for solutions of a general system of variational inequalities involving two different inverse-strongly accretive operators and solutions of fixed point problems involving nonexpansive mappings in a Banach space. The proof combines a modified viscosity extragradient method with weak contraction arguments. The results developed in this paper can be applied to find solutions of equations involving accretive operators and \(k\)-strictly pseudo-contractive mappings.
