R is a free open access software package for scientific computations. It can be used for simple calculations as well as for advanced programming applied in scientific simulations. This book provides the easy introduction on how to use R in typical applications taken from different sciences.NEWLINENEWLINEThe book consists of sixteen chapters and three appendices. Throughout the chapters the following topics are explained: writing R scripts, writing functions, drawing graphs, data input and output, quadratic, trigonometric, exponential and logarithmic functions, matrix arithmetic, linear equations systems, probability and simulation, fitting models to data. Many mathematical problems are explained as the practical applications of the presented theory as well. In appendices the advices on how to install R and getting help are gathered.NEWLINENEWLINEThe book is not a typical R manual, it describes how to solve common mathematical problems drawn from all sciences, discussed in the book, using R in a simple way. Each chapter consists of a short description of an R aspect, typical mathematical problems to be solved and R solutions of these problems. Each chapter ends with a summary and exercises. The book is full of practical examples. It is suitable for students and all who are familiar with some high school algebra and has no computer programming background.
