Under some conditions, the authors discuss the asymptotic behavior and the existence of a periodic solution of the first order nonlinear difference equation with an initial condition \(\Delta x(t) = F(t, x(t))\), \(x(t_0) = x_0\). A fixed point theorem in an ordered set is used in the discussion of the existence of periodic solution.
