This is a review on some quantum field theory aspects of condensed matter on the one hand, and on some theoretical problems which could be considered in the near future, on the other hand. The text comprises three main parts. The first one is a detailed summary of the main properties of graphene (monolayer graphene and multilayer graphene), the second one deals with the QFT aspects of graphene (electron-electron interaction, renormalization group features), and the third part is devoted to some topological aspects in graphene (QHE, Callan-Harvey mechanism, parity anomaly, Berry phase, insulating phases). As pointed out by the authors themselves, some QFT aspects of graphene of current interest have been discarded, but this is quite right so.
