Further geometric restrictions on Jordan structure in matrix factorization (English)

The paper under review falls within the very difficult problem of describing the Jordan forms of two complex matrices \(B\) and \(C\) with specified eigenvalues and such that their product \(B \cdot C\) is a given matrix \(A\). The authors investigate on the restrictions imposed to the Jordan forms by the specification of the eigenvalues of \(B\) and \(C\). They show the existence of certain invariants of \(A\), \(B\) and \(C\) which have to satisfy some relations previously unknown.
