The authors aim at using homogenisation techniques to perform a quantitative study of the effect of rough hydrophobic surfaces on viscous Newtonian flows. The main problem seems to reduce to the homogenisation of a class of nonlocal systems, involving the Dirchlet-to-Neumann map of the Stokes operator, in a domain with small holes.
