The author reports on some highly interesting results concerning CR quaternionic structures and a related twistor theory for CR quaternionic manifolds, based mainly on his research articles realized in collaboration with L. Ornea and R. Pantilie. Moreover, some nice applications to submanifolds of quaternionic manifolds are given.
