The author describes \textit{N. A'Campo}'s construction [Comment. Math. Helv. 50, 233--248 (1975; Zbl 0333.14008)] of the Milnor fibration of a complex hypersurface singularity with real blow-ups in terms of log geometry in a very clear way, giving many examples illustrating the definitions. As application it is stated that the analytic Milnor fibre of \textit{J. Nicaise} and \textit{J. Sebag} [Invent. Math. 168, No. 1, 133--173 (2007; Zbl 1136.14010)] determines the homotopy type of the Milnor fibration.
