Two new classes of near perfect nonlinear functions (English)
0 references
Let \(G_1\) and \(G_2\) be finite abelian groups with orders \(n\) and \(m\), respectively. Nonlinearity of functions \(f: G_1 \rightarrow G_2\) have traditionally been studied when \(n = m\). Some studies have also considered groups with \(n > m\), with major contributions by \textit{C. Carlet} and \textit{C. Ding} [J. Complexity 20, No. 2--3, 205--244 (2004; Zbl 1053.94011)]. In the current paper, two new families of highly nonlinear functions (through the definition of functions that are called perfect nonlinear) are presented for cases when \(m\) does not divide \(n\).
